Grammen Mushrooms are cultivated in the salubrious environs of Satpuda hills by SAMUHA (Satpuda Mushroom Utpadak Sangh),
a collective of tribal women mushroom growers. The Collective has been promoted by PRADAV (Professional Assistance for Development Action), a national level Non Government Development Organisation, working on issues of enhancing rural livelihoods. Today 200 tribal women from some of the poorest families in the tribal block-Kesla in Hoshangabad are members of the Collective. This venture has been supported by sir Dorabjee Tata Trust, World Food Programme and madhya Pradesh Forest Department. |
